Within the cosmetic regulation, notification of all cosmetic products is centralised and must be submitted electronically, prior to placing the cosmetic product on the market. The CPNP portal is making this information available electronically to the competent authorities and the poison centres.

The following information should be submitted:

  • Product (category + specific definitions)
  • Responsible person (Name and address to reach the Production Information File)
  • The country of origin in the case of import
  • Name of the Member State country where the product is marketed
  • Contact details of a real person
  • The existence of nanomaterials (their identification and reasonably foreseeable exposure conditions)
  • The existence of substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR), of category 1A or 1B
  • The frame formulation allowing for appropriate medical treatment in the event of difficulties
